Moving Out of Boardwalk – Damage Deposit?

I’m about to move out of a Boardwalk building. Very minimal “wear and tear” damage to the apartment, aside from a dent in the corner of a wall where my cat tree hit it.

I’ve never moved out of a Boardwalk place before, let alone a big corporation like this.

What are my chances of getting my damage deposit back?

I use to leave in boardwalk towers on jasper ave, it was a good experience for me, they deduct $40 for window cleaning and thats it make sure you clean everything nicely and spotless.

They kept our entire damage deposit because of “finger prints”. That’s literally what they had written on the walk out inspection. Fucking finger prints.

Clean the heater vents in the ceiling. They like to point up at those and say they’re dirty.

If they say you owe more than what your damage is they will put it in collections, and against your credit bureau

  11. I just got charged for carpet cleaning and I forgot to return the laundry card lol. Other than that got the full deposit back. We cleaned everything top to bottom and tried to make it look as nice as when we moved in. Like the fridge, bathtub etc and they were happily surprised. As for the dent in the wall, depending on the size you might be able to do a quick fix. If not, you should have been given a price sheet when you moved in on what they will dock you for damages. Good luck!

Make sure everything is clean. And do the walkthrough with them. Take pictures of anything they say they’re going to charge you for.
