I have a room up for rent in my house but I’m not entirely sure how to go about posting that I have a room for rent.

What should I include in the details of an add? Where is the most effective place to get an add answered?

  1. Include the price how big the room is where you are located if you have any pets or kids. What you expect for food sharing or space to store their food rules for common areas. Smoking policy. What shops or bus access is near you.

Well how do you know how old they are and if it’s their first time doing something like this that comment is really unnecessary. You clearly need to learn how to adult if that’s your comment.

    • Do you read posts just to be able to ooze rude comments? Make you feel good? I think the OP has a valid question if they have never rented out before.

  5. FIRST OF ALL

Call the landlord and tenants board and determine what your rights are.

If you are sharing space with a renter, the tenants act may not apply in your scenario.

Once you’ve determined your legal obligations, post a very specific ad about the type of person you want.

E.g. Single person, quiet, students preferred, no parties, no pets, non smoking.

Interview everybody and ask for references.
