CBD Oil Follow up

I posted a few weeks back regarding CBD oil for depression/anxiety. I ordered from fog & birch and been fiddling with my dosage. I’m super hesitant to try a lot, I’ve been doing a couple drops(equivalent to like 2mg) and find it doesn’t do a lot.

I understand everyone is different but really wanting to find some relief as my anxiety has been really bad. Thanks

It is said that that C17H21NO4 often has better anti depressant qualities for a patient than CBD oil does.

There are so many things I’d like to suggest, but I’ll start with this. First, I am sharing part of an article below (see end of post), from my RawVeda Hemp FB group that you may find helpful. It was from an article I read last year about the difference between Isolates and Full Spectrum Hemp oil. It is pasted at the end of this comment 🙂 As a long time Natural Health Practitioner, I have a deep interest in medicinal plants and have been deep in research about hemp as medicine, and as such, I am an advocate for full spectrum hemp oil, which unfortunately in Canada we cannot get, because they cannot harvest the whole plant. We only get the isolates, which I have personally tried, and have had no good experience with. According to a very reliable source, a long time expert on Hemp, I interviewed on this subject last year, we plow under billions of pounds of CBD medicine in Canada, every year, because of this archaic law forbidding Hemp Farmers from harvesting the whole plant. As far as I know, this has not changed. As such, I continue my affiliation with a great company from the US – the best hemp oil I’ve been able to find – and it has the best system for growing a CBD affiliate business online too – so for me it’s been a win win.

I have Epilepsy, and actually, when I didn’t have access to this powerful full spectrum CBD oil for a few months last year, my health declined tremendously. I ended up having a health crisis situation, with multiple days of Grand Mal seizures, a near death experience, and a psychotic break, from the Epileptic Seizures, landing me in the hospital for a few days in January. Truth be told, after I finally got access to my preferred hemp oil again, in addition to intermittent fasting and the Ketogenic Diet, which is an effective natural diet therapy for Epilepsy, and other neurogenic disorders, including mental health issues, I finally started to feel human again. In fact, doing this has radically changed my health status for the best!

So, that is the other suggestion I have for you: Diet. Diet. Diet. Check out intermittent fasting and the Ketogenic Diet for neurological/mental health. This amazing combination of hemp oil, fasting and keto, has saved me. I have gone from dozens of debilitating petit mal seizures a day, to almost zero…I barely ever experience them now – and have only had two grand mals in almost 3 months of following this protocol. I can’t say enough good about it! If you want to learn more about the Ketogenic Lifestyle, feel free to join my other FB group – The Rebel Epileptic – where we learn about the ketogenic diet and support one another in treating Epilepsy – and all neurological disorders really – naturally. It’s a good place to get acquainted. You are most welcome to join us 🙂

If you want to learn more, DM me, I’m more than willing to send you some info, links, resources, that could be beneficial. Hope what I have shared above, and below, helps. Either way…good luck to you on your healing journey! Cheers, Ava

From RawVeda Hemp FB group – Info shared by Ava Schriver Dunn May 2018

Good info on comparing our oil (which is full spectrum) vs isolates (many other products).

We often get asked how one should know what exactly it is they are buying. To start, it’s a good idea to understand if you are purchasing a Full Spectrum product or a CBD isolate.

A ‘Full Spectrum’ product refers to the method of plant extraction to an oil, which includes the whole plant and all of its compounds, therefore containing an array of beneficial cannabinoids (such as CBD, CBG, CBC, THCV, CBN etc) and beneficial terpenes. The compounds of the whole plant remain intact in the extracted oil. With Full Spectrum products, you have the advantage of something they call the “Entourage Effect.” This is where all the cannabinoids and terpenes work together in synergy, something that CBD isolate products will lack.

CBD isolate (often labeled as “pure CBD” or just “CBD oil”) is extracted through a different method where only one compound of the plant – CBD – is extracted to an oil, introduced to harmful solvents, then cooled until it forms crystals. The crystals are then processed into a powder. The isolate results in a single molecular compound of strictly CBD. There are no other molecular compounds of value found in the isolate.

In a 2015 study done at the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem, it was concluded that CBD isolate yields a “bell-curve” of effectiveness versus Full Spectrum extract. This research showed that the isolate becomes less effective over time, while Full Spectrum extract continues its effectiveness over time. It was also concluded that a CBD isolate is only as effective as its dose, while Full Spectrum extract continues its effectiveness as the dosage increases.

The hemp plant also produces a multitude of flavonoids and polyphenols, which are vital micro nutrients for overall health. Recent findings are showing the hemp plant also produces unique flavonoids, such as cannaflavin, in which the full potential of these vital compounds is yet to truly be discovered.

Why isolate molecules of this incredible plant when we are only just starting to understand its potential?

I think the a slightly larger does would be appropriate. I am not a marijuana user ever and I started at 20-25mg a day and noticed a big difference.

  6. Nigel Prsa Nigel Prsa says:

I think u will need 20-30mg per drop for it to be effective with severe anxiety. Go to naturalhealthservices.ca and get a prescription so you can order for licensed producers that make a better product with more concentration. GL

As for some it might seem silly….look into your vitamins intake.
    Most Canadians are vitamin deficient.

Calcium, along with magnesium, helps to nourish the nervous system and prevent anxiety, panic attacks, and restlessness or irritability. … Deficiency in vitamin D has been linked with anxiety, depression, and seasonal affective disorder

    It most definitely helps me

  8. I took two drop twice a day for a week then increase a few drops each week. Although I did notice some changes in the first week with my anxiety it wasn’t until week 3 or 4 until, I really noticed a change with my pain. Topically the stuff helps with a lot. But not all brands are the same. The ones I’ve tried that are just CBD isolate dont do a well as full spectrum, since it’s not just cbd or even thc that can be beneficial it’s also the other cannabinoids cbg cbg etc and the terpene profile that plays a huge part.

  9. I have anxiety and depression. The only thing that works for me is meds from my dr. I suggest talking with your dr. I take one pill daily. Doesn’t have to be so hard. Just take the meds.

I had a medical prescription previously and was told it needed to build up in my system for 25 days to notice the effects

  11. CBD doesn’t work for everyone and can actually cause anxiety to worsen in some. If you still want to go that route make an appointment with an herb clinic or actual Dr that can properly dose you

We have been in the wellness industry for 20 years and have two very reputable massage therapy clinics in town and we have been taking CBD for almost two years and so it as a side business. How many mg are in your bottle? Our lowest mg bottle is 750 and we recommend 4-5 drops per day under the tongue, hold for 30 seconds and hen swallow. Twice a day. Add a drop or two every couple of days. Work your way up to half a dropper full twice a day. Make sure it’s organic, and lab tested. Feel free to PM me I have tons of information.

I actually considered this for myself for my anxiety. I can’t say this will help for you but it may be worth a shot- Omegas! I had been going without and since taking them regularly it really helps put my overactive mind at ease. I notice a huge difference between when I take them vs when I don’t. Just a suggestion!☺️

  14. No matter what CBD oil will not get you high…take more it has no harm it will do you good…I have friends that always use CBD

  15. Kat Story Kat Story says:

Make an appt with the herb clinic on liberton in St. Albert you can s lad refer and the docs there will give you the proper dose and strain … they are very good

  16. Sitting down to try and evaluate what gives you anxiety, and what you can do about those things is important. Maybe certain people or activities need to be cut out. Talk to a doc to get the right cbd dosage as well as monitor your progress.

  17. You also need to take into consideration the strength, I use a 10% strength but in UK you can buy 3% 5% 10% 15%

  18. You could down the whole bottle and nothing will happen its cbd oil nkt thc oil. If really worries go see an actual dr

  19. It takes time for the CBD Oil to help depression and anxiety. For me I didn’t start noticing a difference for about 3 weeks. It does work it just takes time.

  20. I think you should buy some legal CBD from a store and start with 2.5mg serving of CBD. You literally could be consuming cat poop right now because the product you bought is not legal and not tested.

  21. Dylan Havok Dylan Havok says:

If the oil is CBD and 0% THC, the oil should not have any psychoactive effects. I’d suggest upping your dosage and see if that doesn’t help.

  22. Dylan Palin Dylan Palin says:

I have to take at least 25-50mg for my anxiety to notice any actual improvement. Try a higher dose.

  23. I would say best thing to do is sit down and write down the things that are giving you anxiety and figure out solutions on ways to alleviate or work around those things. If CBD doesn’t help then I suggest finding out why your anxiety is getting high and work on those things. For me I know certain things in my life are stressing me out and in turn, I’m slowly looking into either therapy as a way to cope or perhaps remove certain aspects in my life.

  24. I think you should up your dosage. Remember CBD does not make you high.
Also with CBD it is imperative to never miss a dose and it can take a few months to see the full effects.

  25. The thing to keep in mind with CBD is it doesn’t work for everyone. No matter how much someone will swear it will, you just might not be a person it does work for. However if you’re finding it is relieving some anxiety, but not all of it, you may need to increase your dose a little bit. Also keep in mind the concentration of the cbd oil you are taking. If it’s for anxiety you don’t want too much thc in it. Treating yourself for anxiety can be a process, but hang in there and keep experimenting till you find what works best for you.

  26. You will have to continue to up your dose until it works for you.
