To the Christmas day workers and the night shifters

Shoutout to all of the people working Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Who are working around the clock to provide health care, safety and security, home care or shopping needs. You are amazing. You work night shifts and over time no matter the industry you know it’s true.

You are nurses, correctional officers, police, ems, firefighters, gas station attendants, and I’m sure so much more but you are also mom and dad’s and still you work these shifts and don’t get to spend the time you deserve with your family because your taking care of someone else’s.

I grew up with a mom who was a nurse and now I work in a jail. I always take my coworkers shifts so that they can spend time with their families on this holiday as I no longer have any. But damn do I remember my mom having to work these holidays and not understanding till I grew up that she worked because someone else’s kid needs taking care of too.

So shout out to you all! We appreciate it

Love this ❤️❤️. As a nurse I can imagine how hard it was for your mom to be away from her family on special occasions. I’m sure she thought of you often during those long shifts.
