Edmonton’s End of the World got a $1.5mm uplift… Thoughts?

I was here before they spent $1.5 million on beautifying and making the place safe. As many of you know, it had zero safety before this uplift.

But what are your thoughts on it costing $1.5 million? Why is construction so dang expensive in Canada? Anyway, that’s a discussion for another day.

I think it looks great and will go and check it out sometime. What do you think about this whole ordeal? If you don’t have a care in the world, that’s okay too. 🙂

This is yet another epic waste of civic dollars….this is the worst Mayor and City Hall Edmonton has ever seen…in the back-pocket of the Rainbow Coalition which spearheads most of these hairbrained ideas….nearly a billion dollars spent on Consulting with no Capitol work being done…hundreds of millions destined for useless bicycle lanes put in against the wishes of Communities all over Edmonton…I ad others in my Neighborhood were locked out of some of those Community meeting that were supposed to provide feedback….there is an intentionally fraudulent process being used to drain Edmonton City coffers….it is collusionary and it is not going to continue to go un-noticed.

Every time the city does something there is always those who complain. If it bugs you so much maybe apply for a job with the city budgeting department. Not qualified? Gee,maybe you don’t know jack….if this is stressing you I suggest you just go look at the view, it is worth it.

“Why is construction so dang expensive in Canada?”

Because people want to get paid for doing work.

For example: When a worker preforms a service for an employer, the employer compensates the worker with what’s called a paycheque that they can exchange for what is called “money” which the worker can exchange for goods and services to maintain a standard of living.

This “money” is added to the cost of construction.

That’s why construction is so dang expensive.

This reminds me of the story out of Toronto about a man who spent $550 to build a staircase on public property for the safety of his elderly friends and the city tore it down and instead hired a company and paid $10,000 for a staircase in the exact same spot.
