Getting divorced

My spouse and I have decided to get divorced. It’s an amicable decision, we simply realized we want different things out of life and decided to go our separate ways. We have no kids, our property is split to our satisfaction and neither of us are looking for support. We’re going to file for a basic ‘desk divorce’.

There was no adultery or abuse so we’re not going to use that as grounds, but my question is about the separation period. Everything I see online says that we cannot collude to say that we’ve already been separated a year when in fact is has only been a few months. How would the courts know when we actually separated? Does anyone actually research to see if we’re telling the truth? What could happen if we got caught lying?

Pretty much I’m just wondering if anyone out here knows of “A friend of a friend” that colluded with their spouse to get a quickie divorce without having to wait out the year?
