Good gynecologist

My wife had two miscarriages during the first weeks of pregnancy. The worst feeling is when the doctor checks the ultrasound and tells you that the baby is gone. My wife is frightened that it may happen again. I would appreciate any recommendations for a good gynecologist.

Thanks

  14. Get your GP to refer you to Dr. McCubbin. I just had a GP for my pregnancy loss but Dr. McCubbin was at the er for the lost, she got me into a dnc right away ( during Christmas) and even though it was my first loss she was determined to find out why, I was blessed with two babies after that loss.

Dr Aubrey Uretsky. This man saved my life 2 times. I had 25 miscarriages told by many doctors I would never have a baby. After getting pregnant with my first son we were sent to him. He not only got us through the pregnancy but also made sure we got the care we needed via special treatments and extra ultrasounds. Then when I needed to deliver things were not going so good so he worked a small miracle and I had my boy. Second time I developed complications. I needed to be hospitalized. He came by every day to check I was ok. Again got me the best treatment even when I had to go to another hospital for it. Things got really bad really fast. He came in to deliver my son at 11:45 pm. Even tho he wasn’t the doctor on call. Things where not looking so good for my boy so he called in a few favors and got some amazing people lined up to save his life while he saved mine. He truly goes above and beyond for his patients.

    • Mrk Pellerin I am currently pregnant with my first child and Dr. Uretsky, has been so kind and patient with me and all my worries. He has been so amazing this far and I definitely second your recommendations, if you can OP get your family doctor to refer you to him as that’s the only way he is taking new patients.

    • Renata Figueroa I’m so sorry that this happened . I’m sure it was an awe full experience for you:( I also had very traumatic births for two of my children . And in my cases he saved their lives .But I am only speaking of my own personal experience . Although many friends of mine would say the same about Dr. mayo. He is the head of obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for a reason … idk

    • Oh ya she’s terrifying aaaaaand she’s the best. My mom had trouble and she helped her get pregnant and have me and then did the same for me with my 2 kids. She delivered me and my daughter. We are literally the family that Dr T built.

On my recent stay at the Alex her nurses told me stories how she would command everyone around and has once kicked out a room full of staff out of the OR and requested a new group… she yelled at the nurses for keeping me on a chair in the ER and demanded I be put in a bed immediately… poor nurses are so scared of her. I was almost in tears when she was done with me…the nurses felt soo bad..but in the end she proved to be very knowledgeable and caring… everything she said made sense

      [0]
    • Aja Novic ya. She has no time for sub par staff and decisions. But she’s on the patient’s team and she will 100 percent kick people out to make sure you get the best care. When the chips are down she is who you want on your team.

      [0]
    • Aja Novic haha ya that sounds about right. She is unapologetically who she is. I love that about her actually. She says exactly what she thinks, no screwing around.

Imagine me in the ER all scared and worried…she marches in yells at everyone they rush and put me on a bed and she goes everything below the waist off… I was like oh are we having an exam? She turns around and goes “is that alrite with you?!!” From then on I felt like a little kitten and the mercy of the monster lol
Every now and then she’d grin at me… kinda like reassurance that she is still human and can be nice lol

  46. Dr. Bader! After horrible OBGYN’s I had given up. One OB was my doctor during a time of tragedy why I had to have my labour endured and deliver my son…he passed away 40min later. The doctor I was seeing was a complete cold hearted bitch. I became pregnant again and Dr. Bader was wonderful. She learned that nobody had even sat and explained my sons autopsy report so she asked me to bring it in and she went over everything (wasn’t even her file). From there on she realized I was fragile and sensitive and fearful of many things so for blood work etc she’d call me directly. She then was my doctor again for my next child. She didn’t make it to deliver either but she came to see me in my room
Both times. I adore her so very much. She’s at the Hy’s Center with Dr. Jiwa (someone else also suggested Dr Jiwa) honestly anyone from that clinic is awesome.
I’m sorry for your losses and I wish you luck.

    • Lindsey Kosterewa i had dr hodges for both my girls and I hated him. Im glad to hear others had good experiences with him, maybe I just always caught him in a bad mood.

      [0]
    • Theresa Yaremchuk His bedside manner needs some work, but my first OB with Erilyn was so old school, I only got to hear her HB once and I had to beg for it. The first dealings with Dr. Hodges was a couple of appointments before a miscarriage, then dealing with infertility. He didn’t make me go through a bunch of testing before offered fertility meds. Then same with Simon, he was really good with the infertility again.

My sister and I both went to him!! He is very straight to the point, which I love. I had nothing but positive experience with him!! I was told by the ultrasound tech that I was having a girl, and Dr Hodges did another ultrasound a week before my due date since he was measuring small, and found out that he was a boy! Loved him

  58. Dr. Mayo….delivered both mine. He’s a fabulous Dr & a good man. Note that wait times can be longer in his office….he gets called out for deliveries. I didn’t mind because I knew when I went into labour he would be there to deliver & not some random Dr.

  59. Dr. Mayo is very egotistical. Most of you must have had very easy pregnancies for praising him so much. If there’s anything significantly wrong… Dr. Mayo will not do proper testing or consult with other doctors. He should retire and let more competent doctors do his job.
