Homemade mitts and scarves for donating

Hello Edmonton. My mother is a 92 year old senior who loves to knit and is unable to do much else.

We have an abundance of mittens and scarves that we would like to donate to an organization that will get these out to people who are need of them this winter.

The mittens are quite warm and if you double them up, they will keep your hands toasty even in the coldest weather. There are multitudes of colours and sizes and there are even Oiler and Eskimo colours.

So if anyone knows a good group in need, please let me know.

Thanks Edmonton! And stay warm this winter!

  1. The Mustard Seed or Bissell Centre are the best to donate goods you want to go to those in need. Also WIN House will get them to kids that need also.

  3. Women’s shelter would take them. Lots of kids come through there. Give your mom a hug she deserves a great big one. My great aunt crochets afghans and donates them to the hospital auxiliary to raffle off. It keeps their mind and hands active.

WE try to keep these items in our vehicles when we go to serve them food on a Wednesday, and are constantly looking for new sources to replentish our stock. We hate to have to turn anyone away that is in need of these items. Please keep us in mind.

Consider donating to Addictions Recovery Centre. A lot of our clients are in need when they come in. Sometimes all they have is what they are wearing. 10302 107 street. Good for her though! Keeps her young I’m sure 🙂
