  1. AMA is the best value around. I’ve used them for battery, flat tires, maps, camping maps & tour guides, friend’s locked out of car. They also have the best driver training around.

  2. there’s a million places you can take your learners

    ….. You’re an idiot.

  4. Plenty of places, but an AMA membership is a pretty useful thing…

  5. Literally any registry really just google registries and find one close call and book it but they are going on strick so no guarantee they have any openings

Just learn how to be a good, responsible operator of a motor vehicle, be worthy of your drivers license!

Any registry office should offer the test

  8. Any registry!

Well what do you expect? Their services are based to benefit members.

  9. Any other registry ever?

  10. AMA is only a false peace of mind. I was a member for several years and never used my membership for anything I personally needed. I ended up using my membership on friends who’d lock themselves out or get a flat, etc. The “discounts” for local business patronage are total crap (5-15%?) and when there’s a winter storm or any major inclement weather event, your wait time for any kind of service is exponentially increased to often upwards of 24-36 hours.

      No different than insurance.

You could go through your whole life without making an insurance claim, but when you need it, it’s there.

    • They should increase their service fleet by a lot on the days when everyone needs them just the same as the city draws contract plows when it snows. There’s no way anyone should have to wait that long for service.

    • Kate Ward Kate Ward says:

It doesn’t matter what company you call, it’s usually that long for any type of tow service on those days.

    • It shouldn’t be “usual” though, it’s pathetic and your statement means you have become complacent with that fact.

    • Nikki Rushton agreed it’s good for seniors or people who can’t replace a flat themselves other wise any cold day or snowy day it’s always a 5+ hr wait to get help and 9/10 you can get better deal and the stores using there loyalty card or a coupon

    • Nikki Rushton AMA has been nothing but helpful when I have needed them. Never waited more then an hour even when my caliber came loose forty minutes outside Alberta. Also there’s only so many tow truck drivers to cover heavy snowfall days. With more then a hundred cars in the ditch it’s impossible for them to get to everyone in a day. They put priority on people with kids and seniors first. But have fun paying 2 to 300 for a tow if something were to ever happen.

    • Kate Ward Kate Ward says:

Nikki Rushton I’m not complacent, it’s annoying for those that need it on those days, but it makes no sense from a business stand point to have equipment that would only be needed one or two days a year. You talk about contracting out like the city, but those independent drivers probably do much better working for themselves on those days. If it were just AMA supplying the trucks/tows/service then I could understand your point, as it’s just the city that is responsible for clearing our roads.

    • Whatever – lol – I stand by my opinion.

    • Merissa Stemkowski they only put priority on kids and pets locked in hot vehicles. They do not prioritize seniors or anyone else. I know because I worked for a towing company that contracted to AMA.

Canadian tire roadside is better. Look into it. Especially the 250kms free towing vs 160 with ama.
Oh and Canadian tire pays us tow operators a fair price unlike AMA and their 30 year old rates!
Because of that last part CT roadside has 3× the contractors AMA has.

  11. Pretty much any registry

Purdy Travis. Canadian tire is a joke and wreck your car without basic knowledge. I wouldn’t let them touch my car with a 10 foot poll

    • Jodi Flatt Jodi Flatt says:

Purdy Travis sorry you feel that way. Not sure where I’d want to tow my vehicle for 250km, but hey, if it works for you, go crazy! AMA works for me and I trust that their operators are well trained and knowledgeable.

  16. Any Registry will help you
