looking for my birth father/family

Hi. My name is Jessica. I was born February 20, 1979 in Edmonton Alberta at the General Hospital on Jasper Ave

I am one of 2 kids of my parents. I don’t know if my father has any others out there.

My dad has never been a part of my life, but I’ve always felt like I was missing something.

His name is Brian Weslie Smith, born March 10, 1955 (I think in BC) he has one sister (I think her name is Kathy) that I know of and she has 2 boys (in their 20’s or 30’s), might even be older. If I’m correct their names start with a D. ( I was 16 when told their names.) My grandpa’s name was John Wesley (a.k.a JW) he passed away in Kelowna BC

They all lived in Calgary Alberta as far as I was told.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

I have looked and looked for family but never got anywhere. Ive never met any of them growing up. And I have always waited to meet them. The photo I have is from 1977 or 1979 not to sure.

First order your long form birth certificate. With that as proof you can probably order your father’s bc long form certificate. Don’t order wallet. Long form has parents name occupation possibly address at time of birth. Where is your mom? Did you ask questions? Death certificates are available after 20 years in bc. Use websites like canada 11 and http://www.whitepages.ca and call and speak to everybody named Brian or weslie smith. I do genealogy and heir tracing for lawyers. People can be found! Facebook me for more search tips. I will give you suggestions where to look.

    • Smith is such a common name . Birth cert do not always work as the mothers tend to not list the father. Ive been looking for someone over 10 years with a common name and still have not gotten anywhere
