Medical marijuana and driving

Ok here is a question for those in law enforcement. Please keep negative comments to yourself. For those kind enough to answer if you can include where you found your information that would be great. Thanks.

My question is this…
I just got my medical license for medical marijuana and am wondering some things.

1. What is the time limit for consuming oil with THC and smoking before you can again get behind the wheel. I feel normal after 8 hours for oil and 2-4 with smoking.
2. What is the time limit for consuming oil with NO THC just CBD and smoking before you can again get behind the wheel. I feel normal the entire time after just a bit more focused.
3. What are the rules in regards to transporting my medical marijuana. Is it similar to liquor. Lock it in the trunk? (If so I see a rise in break ins on trunks)

I know what was told to me in my education session but I’m rather nervous that what I’m seeing and hearing is wrong in regards to this.

  1. I have my prescription as well and I believe the law states no marijuana behind the wheel even if it’s only cbd. Best to be safe.
You can keep it in your bag or car or wherever you want as long as it is kept in the same container with the prescription. (So just don’t transfer it to another bag or container)

I can say CDB oil that has no THC – you can drive immediately. Transporting med. mar. – you have to have it in the container that you get it in AND have your med. mar. card on you at all time. the container you get it in should have the proper info on it, so do not remove labels, etc.

CBD has ZERO psychoactive properties so it should not make you feel “high” or different at all. If anything it should make you calm and pain free. You can carry your prescription on you to a max of 30 grams I think it is as long as it is in the prescription bottles.
And yes it comes with your script on the side.
You can also find that answer on the Licensed suppliers website depending who it is.
Feel free to pm me. I have two licensed suppliers and have been on domestic flights with mine. I use cbd oil with and without thc.

  4. I think it depends on the person and more info will be available when it becomes legal. I am on painkillers and I am not allowed to drive while on them. Better safe than sorry.

  5. 12 hrs before you can drive with taking ether! Whether you feel like it’s worn off or not. I’ve had my prescription about 4 years now.
For transportation make sure you have all your paperwork. Receipt, you patient registration all that.

Most THC and marijuana affects a person’s motor neuron function and slows down the person’s ability to respond like a person not under the influence, therefore, you should not drive or operate heavy machinery for at least 4-8 hrs after consumption.

Cbd doesn’t get you high?? Why would it even matter it’s basically an essential oil you take orally

  11. I think a good rule of thumb would be to treat it like booze. Be respectful of it. Just because you can’t feel the effects doesn’t mean that they aren’t there. Locking your stuff in the trunk is the only way to be assured that there won’t be an allegation of use while driving. It’s a smart way to transport your stuff, and no I don’t think that this will result in an increase of vehicle break ins.
