Men drivers and pedestrians

I am from Vancouver and I thought Edmonton was polite until I drove here. They can’t recognize a good driver. The rudeness of men here is unbelievable. Calling someone a c*nt or a bitch is normal for men here? never would happen back home.

I want to like this city but the men are so macho and rude. Male pedestrian stepped out without looking and I slid in snow to avoid him and he called me a fucking bitch.

Why is it normal in Edmonton to swear at people so badly?

  5. I have lived here for over 20 years and we lived all over Canada and spent 6 years in Germany. The only place I have seen and heard drivers that are more rude is in Toronto. Also hardly anyone uses turn signals or stops at stop signs.

  7. Why attack the OP here? New residents are a VERY GOOD THING. I hope that you find things about Edmonton to like. I lived there for 25 years until the blatant ignorance made me leave

  8. Well you’re from Vancouver so I question the validity of you being a good driver. Anyways, you’ll come to learn pedestrians here suck and about 65% of the people need to get sent back to kindergarten for a year to relearn how to cross streets.

  14. I’ve been called worse by pedestrians both male and female who don’t pay attention to traffic, they think they own the streets where there’s a crosswalk…at lights if it says don’t walk when traffic is turning, they walk…and then swear at you

  15. So you are branding ALL male drivers the same in Alberta???!!!

  17. Pedrestians believe their health/life worth the liability coverage or something like that… They dont undestand that once they leave the sidewalk they are in a shared area where they are weaker and will always lose depite they could win in court… Crazy behavior.

  19. To answer your question, yes the men in Alberta in general tend to treat women worse than men from other provinces.

  21. One person called you a name and immediately your classify all Edmonton men as ‘unbelievably rude’? Brilliant. And not one person in Vancouver has EVER been rude to you?? What a fortunate person you are. And how very judgmental.

  22. I’m from Vancouver and I never noticed people or more specifically, men being more rude here! Maybe you just ran into a couple bad apples. Most people here and everywhere are nice. I hope Edmonton treats you better, it really is a wonderful place with amazing people 🙂

  30. Perhaps your driving skills weren’t up to par ~a ‘pedestrian’ stepping out is everywhere.
A part of your story has a gap~
Drive for the conditions and always be prepared for what could happen.
Not nice to ‘ditch’ men here in Edmonton when more than likely it was your fault.
    Woman up~

  32. I agree. A few years ago in Vancouver I noticed I hardly heard a car honk, out here it’s just the norm. So are rude men drivers…..especially men in trucks. Lol. Just my observations….I’m sure plenty will disagree with me and that’s cool.

  33. Sharie Amanda what? Because I have a dick and balls I’m not allowed to call someone out for shit talking me? Get over yourself.

  34. It was your choice in language more than anything. Nobody cares about your “dick and balls”. Has anyone taken the time to teach you the correct names of your body parts yet?
