Need advice on viewing device (Apple tv or android?)

I’m just looking for some advice. I don’t have cable and want to buy a device to stream Netflix or movies on via wifi.

I’m not sure which is more bang for my buck. Either an Apple TV or another android based device.

All suggestions welcome. Thanks !

I have an Apple TV. It’s good for crave tv and Netflix. And to okay my music I’ve PURCHASED from spoke on it. But my Apple Music doesn’t connect and that’s all I use it for. I bought a DVD player that has a usb jump drive to play my downloaded movies and tv shows I’ve acquired over the years. Android boxes seem much better.

Get a ps4, avoid streaming boxes at all costs. They are borderline illegal and will likely be blocked by service providers in the near future

  20. Get a google box. You can steam any movie or tv show you can think of. Usually less than $150.00!

All these people say android boxes. I Ran Kodi off my laptop and as far as an android box goes. Its no comparison to what your laptop gives you for ram and processor and everything. If you have a laptop 1 hour of YouTube videos teaches you how to do everything and you don’t need to spend the 150 or 100. Updates and everything are actually easier to do. And you get all the channels and networks that Apple TV makes you pay for. As far as I’m concerned android boxes are the lazy way to have Kodi if you don’t own a laptop or you don’t want to hook it up everytime you use it.

Get an Nvidia Shield if you want Kodi as well, or a Roku if you just want Netflix. The Roku you can get Plex if you download stuff.

  23. Kodi is open source and free software. It’ll run on an Android phone. Pair it with a Chromecast hooked to your TV and you’re set.

  26. Apparently devices use up a ton of wifi data. Your best bet is to get a smart tv with Netflix.

All devices are going to use data, including a smart TV or blue ray with netflix. But netflix is limited so I have the android box which allows me to watch anything and everything. Its easy to travel with as well being so little. Whichever system you do choose, you will need a good data plan even of its just netflix.

  28. I should add that, including myself, I’ve known three people who get that one from Amazon in my earlier link and each of us needed to do a factory reset to get it to work.

  34. If you have cable you can either get a Roku or Chromecast to stream. FYI, Netflix sucks.
