Need witnesses

May need whiteness this happened this evening Oct 28 between 4:50 pm to 5:15. We were in Walmart at northgate when we came out we saw this car rate at the hitch when we were loading groceries in the box.

We waited over 3 hours and went into Walmart and asked them to let the driver know we want to speak to them about this and get they’re information.

Monday we will be going to insurance. We have written down the license plate and vin number of the car. The owner of the car never came to car/.

  1. So you’re saying you waited around 3 hrs because someone parked right up to your hitch?

    Couldn’t get out?

I’m sure if their car was up against YOUR hitch they would be the ones with damage

    WTF?

  5. First of all, my brain hurts after reading this. Secondly, shitty to say because similar things have happened to me in the past, I’m pretty sure it’s not the store’s responsibility to help people with damages done to their vehicles. It’s at the operators risk to park in the parking lot. I was told that “it’s my choice to have decided to drive my car and park it in the parking lot”. And that I should know all the risks associated with it.

Not saying that it doesn’t suck when it happens but I don’t think there’s much someone can do about it other than writing the plate and VIN like this person did. Leave a note with a phone number on it also helps.

*Witness not whiteness, *right, not rate….you’re a park & run victim! I’m so sorry that people are so blatantly disrespectful in parking! It could have been so much worse & you wasted 3 hours of your life plus the time it took you to write this post!

  10. Be prepared to pay your deductible. Then be extra prepared when your insurance company can’t find the responsible party without more information.

  11. Haha good call insurance , it’s gonna be 50/50 anyways. You will still have to pay to get it fixed.

Some drivers park by feel. There was a Edmonton Alderman who parked behind jacked up muscle car, and damaged his grill on his car. The Alderman was upset about bumpers not matching and tried to change laws, so bumper height had to be factory height. With time and more repairs, he found out different cars and trucks have different bumper heights from the factory. The missing driver may have got license plate and wrote it on scrap of paper, to take to police and tell them of damage and say they found paper with license number left on windshield. I am no longer shocked by what the self centered will do to blame others.

Questions. When did edmonton get aldermen? Who jacks up a muscle car? Most people I know, lower them.

    • John Lischuk John Lischuk says:

I am not a history expert, so I don’t know why you would ask me these questions, unless you need a dictionary to start understanding the meaning of alderman. And in the 80’s before there were all the performance products for cars, people jacked up there car to get larger tires under them.

      [0]
    • Jeremy Dines Jeremy Dines says:

Don’t need a history lesson to know we don’t have aldermen. But you’re right about the car. Just noticed you said he parked behind the muscle car, and it was his own grill that got damaged.

    • John Lischuk John Lischuk says:

You are confused, and would understand more with the help off a dictionary. Dictionaries are old but easy to use.

  15. If it’s your car just go buy a new fuckin bumper man and also when you’re in a parking lot then both parties are responsible for themselves

    [0]
  16. Curious how you get a VIN number without opening a door, isn’t it always on the inside of the drivers door?

  17. This is totally stupid

  18. Lol it was in a parking lot. You’re SOL.

Wow stupidest SHIT so far today. Seriously? Insurance? Because a bumper touched your 3000lbs rated hitch? If that PLASTIC bumper damaged your hitch your hitch was already fucked to start with, and thank God this person touched it in that case as I would sure as Hell not want to be anywhere near you if you actually pulled a trailer!
Get a life and move the fuck on pal. Wow?! Entitlement issues big time! Betting it is a millennial who wrote this!
And GO BACK TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND LEARN TO FUCKING SPELL!

  20. Sweet Baby Jebus! I had to read your post twice to filter out the message you were trying to confer…

So a wee blue car bumped into your trailer hitch in a parking lot. I’d wager that your hitch is undamaged beyond a bit of blue paint transference. I’m pretty sure you have little to worry about or repair here.

  21. Marvin Bent Marvin Bent says:

This person is a fucking idiot……..what there’s damage to your hitch because a bumper touched it……….goos thing the car owner didn’t come out……he would of told you to fuck off or punched you in the face for being stupid……..

    [0]
  22. It’s the hitch you stupid fuck. The hitch….it’s got rust on it but suddenly blue paint made it worse?

    [0]
  23. As long as the hitch was removed you are going to be on a witch hunt. Good luck! Maybe with a little luck you may even learn how to put a sentence together!

  29. Not sure where the damage is to your vehicle. The hitch looks just fine so unless you have another picture of actual damage not sure what you need a witness for- cause he touched you?

    [0]
  30. Parking lots are not always 50/50. Who’s to say the owner of the truck didn’t back into the car and is now trying to avoid an at fault claim for damage to the cars bumper?

  34. Maybe he wants to make sure the person that owns the blue car doesn’t put in a claim saying the poster backed into the parking spot damaging his car.

    [0]
  35. as so many appear to have misunderstood, I do believe that the issue is that damage may have occurred to the car and they wanted to cover their bases with insurance.
I pray to god that this is the case as if it isn’t then the snow falling outside tonight was competing for snowflake status.

    • This post is from the person with the truck

      [0]
    • Kevin Sorochan I got that, I also got that it is somewhat illegal from my understanding to have that kind of hitch on when you are not using it. At the end of the day, “Not my circus, not my monkeys”!

    • Jeff Dutton Jeff Dutton says:

Allie Heppner, it is actually the receiver that you see in the picture and it is a part wich is bolted to the vehicle it is not something you remove when not in use and there are no laws stating you need. To. You are thinking about the actual hitch wich slides into the receiver, wich is not currently in place. Most of the time the whole thing is just referred to as a hitch

      [0]
    • Jeff Dutton Jeff Dutton says:

Also the post says: “We were in Walmart at northgate when we came out we saw this car rate at the hitch when we were loading groceries in the box.” The post is written by the owner of the truck.

      [0]
    • Jeff Dutton notice above in the comments where I said ” I got that”? That was about the truck owner being the poster……and yeah, I see that it is the receiver that you see, but considering the level of concern from the poster, I am assuming there was more.
By the by, when they don’t say anything do anything and are gone for that long the car could be a ditched stolen set of wheels.

  36. Liz Dubray Liz Dubray says:

Ok! First of all. What the fuck? You need a “WHITENESS” for a car “RATE” at the hitch???? What the fuck are you even talking about! The car backed into your hitch or you backed into the car? This whole thing makes no sense. The only witness you’re going to find are the people witnessing this confusing fucked up post!

While you are proficient in your use and spelling of the word “fuck”, please use that attention to detail with the rest of your rants lest you come across as a loose cannon/white trash ignoramus. You excelled at achieving that in this post though.

  37. sorry i could not get pass the bad spelling.

  38. 3hrs? I’m sure that’d be a doctors appt/ welfare office or working.. should have left a note with your number

  39. I’m pretty sure what he’s trying to avoid is being accused of a “hit and run” situation. Someone parked their car on his hitch perhaps hoping that they can claim he did the damage to their car while they were out shopping. For all he knows they could have taken his plate number and truck model and are going to take it to the police and have him charged for the damage as soon as he drives away. There’s nothing wrong for asking if anyone had seen this happen to cover his ass.
