No slow lane

Roads like Henday, Whitemud, ect they have no slow lanes or fast lanes.

The inside lane you need to go the posted speed limit so cars can merge into traffic safely Freeways do not have fast lanes like Highways do. Now you know better.

2 lanes mean keep right except to pass.

  2. How about idiot drives who use the curb lane as a passing lane?

    • James Musat James Musat says:

If the person in the left lane is going 20km/h under the posted speed limit you’re saying I’m an idiot for going into the right lane to pass. You are a serious retard!!! I strongly urge you to stay indoors unless equipped with a helmet and a chaperone. I’ve seen you make 2 comments and they are both head shaking comments. Fuckin dummy

      [1]
    • Probably because someone has the passing lane blocked

      [0]
  3. The Henday is actually a provincial highway.

    [0]
  4. Most of the people who drive 30 under on the henday probably can’t read this because it’s in English

  5. Tyler Seguin Tyler Seguin says:

This shit again.. Just stay the fuck in the right lane if you want to go the limit. You don’t get to dictate how other people drive. “The law is the law” “the speed limit is 100km/h” so? Let the speeders pay for their way of driving with the fines they get. You want to go the limit, perfect, good for you I’m so proud you’re a stand up model citizen and everyone should give you a round of applause for being such a conscientious driver. Is that what left lane hogs want to hear? Fuck off with your self righteousness acting like you’re doing the world a massive favor. I want to go 160 on the henday I will. Only people that can stop me are the police, not you.

    [0]
    • And if you want to go 160 down the henday go ahead but I won’t be moving out of any lane for you. I don’t have to. There is no passing lane. No signs. It’s not the law. It’s not a highway it a freeway. Look it up.

      [0]
    • Tyler Seguin Tyler Seguin says:

Nowhere in my comment did I say anything about passing lanes and it being the law to stay to the right. You want to be that asshole thinking you’re providing some sort of service to your country all the power to you. I’ll simply shift lanes then get in front of your slow ass and brake check you a couple times. Tit for tat.

      [0]
    • Dianne Machado, you’re right you don’t have too. But know that no matter the speed, if you want to be the speed bump that slows the guy down, good on you. I’d rather play safe, check my ego and move the eff over. Lol

      [0]
    • While I might agree with limiters driving in the right lane, you have no right to speed. Why? Because it’s illegal. Why? Because if you get into an accident you could kill me or my family. Whose the one that’s self righteous when you’re potentially taking people’s lives into your hands? And before you go on about how going slow can cause accidents too, yes it can. But it could also be the difference between injury and death. I’m just gonna take a crazy wild guess here and say you own a truck? Black. Dodge maybe… though could be Ford.

Dumbass. People like you are the reason why accidents happen. Give up your ego and pass people in the left lane, and don’t brake check them. I understand being mad about that sort of thing on the highways where they have signs for this. Calm your ass down. I like to speed too but when it comes to the henday, Whitemud, yellowhead, I just sigh, and wait to pass those people on the left lanes. The yellowhead has left exits here and there too.

      [0]
    • Kathy, do you take everything someone says on the interest as gospel? If so, don’t just stay off the highway, stay off the net too.

Dianne Machado has been told many times on this page that the Henday is a highway (216), but she continues say otherwise.

What I don’t get is why so many peons refuse to let faster traffic pass.

Personally, I cannot wait until Edmonton passes legislation like many other jurisdictions that tickets semi-trucks and others for left lane loitering.

Tyler Seguin, Let’s hope you get into an accident, that you are the lone injured person, and that you are unable to drive ever again as a result. Sociopaths…..er, people like you who don’t care about anyone else but themselves, deserve such a fate.

    • James Fischer as I said before. It’s a freeway. If it was a highway then where are the signs that say slower traffic keep right? Huh? Where are they? That law won’t be passed because it’s not a damn highway. Just cause it numbered doesn’t mean crap. Look at white mud they classify that as highway 2, stony plain road 16a but they are not highways.,.

      [0]
    • Shawna Perez who you talking too?

      [0]
    • Of note: Alberta’s 1 to 216 series of provincial highways are Alberta’s main highways. They are numbered from 1 to 100, with the exception of the ring roadsaround Calgary and Edmonton, which are numbered 201 and 216 respectively.

      You were saying Dianne Machado?

      [0]
    • There’s no sign that says “You should use the zipper technique” when you reach a bottle neck in a road or parking lot, but you’re an asshole if you don’t.

      [0]
    • James Fischer I stick to the same thing. Anthony henday is not a highway. It’s a freeway. Look at your post, 1-100 is highways with the exception of ????? What does it say ya that right 216 is not a highway

      [0]
    • Tyler Seguin who are you talking too? Hope not me cause I didn’t wish harm in anyone.

      [0]
    • With the exception of 216 and 201 which are not numbered between 1 -100.

      Numbered…

Is that too difficult to grasp?

      [0]
    • And I truly hope you don’t go 160 and kill your child. I wasn’t wishing you harm. That would be horrible and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. And sweetheart…don’t flatter yourself… it takes a lot more than a Facebook post to piss me off. I’m just bored at the moment and love engaging in this crap from time to time. Lol.

Thank you!! Everyone in this city seems to think every road has a “fast” and “slow” lane.

  8. Well, good luck with that.

  9. It’s PASSING lane !

    [0]
  10. Always thought of the Henday as a 3P highway design, unfortunately I can only think of 2 of them, lol.

Being a courteous driver would be you moving over when someone comes up behind you.
The world needs more courteous people. Not so many self absorbed assholes!

    [0]
  12. Just drive in the middle lane. (I guess they don’t have that on the Henday)… but you don’t have to get out of dodge as quickly in that road….

    [0]
  13. Anthony henday is a fricken freeway. Not a highway. Just cause it’s called highway 216 doesn’t mean shit. It’s a freeway. No passing lane. No passing lanes in yellowhead either in the city. No passing lane on whitemud either. Get a grip people.

    [0]
    • Section 5. Highways and freeways are grouped with the same recommendations.

      http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/content/docType45/Production/DriversGuideJuly2016.pdf

    • Aleida Yackimec drivers guide? Hahaha. If this was a highway the speed limit would be 110 and there would be signs saying slower traffic keep right. Just like on Calgary trail. Once outside city there are signs. Henday is in the city. It’s 100 speed limit and no signs and it’s a freeway

      [0]
    • You do realize there are other highways that have a speed of 100, right?

Also, a freeway is just a controlled-access highway.

And you don’t believe the drivers guide, created by the government that controls the laws. Ooookay. I think you just want to be a dick in the left lane.

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec on the Henday, you bet. I go 100-110 in there. If I’m in the left lane and you come up behind me and wanna go faster, have at it, but go around. Now if I’m Calgary trail out of city limits, I’ll move over for sure, yellowhead out of city limits, I’ll also move. But in the city hell no. Left lane is just a lane. Anywhere in the city.

      [0]
    • Except that Alberta Transportation says otherwise, but you must know better than them.

      [0]
    • Some people just like to be assholes. Eventually you will need to be in the right lane! So why block those who drive faster?
I like to drive slower than most, so I move over, not hard to do…..

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec no Alberta law does not say that all left lanes in the city are passing lanes. Sorry but not sure where you are reading that. If I’m in the city and I’m in the left lane, I’ll stay there. I don’t below speed limit. If it’s 60 it’s 60 if it’s 100 it’s 100. I didn’t make that law. The government did.

      [0]
    • Karii-Marie Lagimodière good for you. You’re a champ.

      [0]
    • I literally showed you that it says on highways and freeways, you should stay in the right lane, except to pass or turn left.

      [0]
    • Also:

“If you’re driving slower than the normal rate of traffic for the conditions of the road, you’re supposed to drive in the right lane,” said Chris Rechner, spokesman for the Alberta Motor Association. “Except if you’re coming up on another vehicle and you need to pass them, or if there’s a left turn up ahead that you’re planning to make.

“Other than that, drivers are encouraged to stay in the right lane.”

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec that’s on a highway not a freeway. If that is the case done you think they would signs that say slower traffic keep right? Where are the signs huh?

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec I don’t go slower than the traffic. I keep up with it and sometimes go faster.

      [0]
    • A freeway is a type of highway. Again, i literally showed you the proof.

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec and I showed you proof where it says it’s a freeway. Freeway and highway are 2 different things with different rules.

      [0]
    • No you didn’t. Holy shit it’s like banging my head against a wall. The drivers guide, that they use to teach new drivers (a course you should consider retaking) states that on highways AND freeways, slower traffic should keep right.

Also, the traffic safety act defines a highway as literally any roadway, including alleys, etc.

      [0]
    • Aleida Yackimec you’re right about one thing. It is like banging my head against the wall. There is the post. Just cause it’s numbered hwy 216 it’s a freeway. Read. I’m done talking to you now. Like I said different rules for hwy and freeway. And again no slower traffic keep right signs in henday.

You are a dumbass and likely the cause of numerous accidents. Do some research before flapping your gums. Did you know in most US states you get a bigger fine for travelling in the left lane when your not passing than you do for speeding. Guess why that is, because it causes accidents dumbass. Ontario has also adopted this law. Let’s hope Alberta follows suit so people like you are forced to learn to drive

    [0]
  16. Henday has no inside lane merges, and the whitemud has two

  17. Matt Dickie Matt Dickie says:

That okay we’ll still pass you on the right side

  18. Holy uneducated city people…. the Henday never says slower traffic keep right.
Some one wants to go the limit on the Henday in the left lane they will and NOTHING YOU CAN DO

    [0]
  19. The left lane is for passing. Having that lane helps traffic flow and the safest thing is to have traffic flowing. When will people ever get this. So if you’re not passing, move over. Notice someone behind you that wants to go faster than you? Maybe try moving over to they can pass you! If I pass you on the right, you’re screwing up the flow of traffic.

  23. Ken Sherwood Ken Sherwood says:

I wanna smash some people that can’t figure out how to merge ! Example If you are merging onto the white mud…. the speed limit is80 therefore you should be doing 80 and finding a spot relative to your speed and the speed of traffic that you are about to merge into. If you are merging into the henday then your speed should be relative to that. Soooo…if you are merging into the whitemud then do 80 ! NOT 50 OR COME TO A COMPLETE STOP YOU FUCKING MORONS !!

    [0]
  24. Actually there are many who think they can drive in the middle lane. Their driver’s license should be revoked. Unless you are an lousy driver going up to 10 % over limit is not the biggest cause of accidents. Too slow speed is actually equally harmful. The worst is an attitude and those who insist slowing flow definitely have equally bad one to those who do bad manouvers like turning to your lane in front 6 inches from your bumper.
