Planning on getting a new phone? AVOID TELUS AT ALL COSTS, from the very beginning of getting a cell phone with them to the very end I have experienced nothing but terrible customer service, ridiculously high rates with a lack of compassion for the customers and only seems to be a money grubbing big phone company.

Avoid going to this company if you actually like having an affordable bill without a mass amount of hidden charges and lack of empathy, I couldn’t be any stronger on this position. EAT MY SHORTS TELUS

    I’ve been with telus for a little while and never had any issues at all but then again, I pay my bill on time and don’t over use my data. Their plans are very similar to every other company. Rogers is way worse, was with them for 8 years and was glad to go to telus.

  9. i will never go with them again. still fighting them. had 3 phones and the contracts that clearly said unlimited text messaging. get a bill over 5 grand all text messaging within canada. no roaming no ld. they refused to honor the contract. its still in dispute as funny how for 8 months it was there and suddenly dropped off. and no one would get a teenager a phone without unlimited text messaging. they finally offered to credit half the the charges like i would accept that. was their billing issue.

      That DEFINITELY does not sound like the Telus I have experienced.

    • I have had where we thought we were getting unlimited texting but there was a human error and the phone bill was over 3000. Called them to say this can’t be right, they said they were very sorry, cleared that 3000 dollar bill and gave us a free month… And this was with telus.

      kids used over 650$ in data charges i wasn’t contacted by telus n when i called they said sorry nobody contacted u to find out if phone was stolen or not n credited me the 650$ back n also gave me 80$ credit for 3 months.. telus is amazing for customer service n the loyalty department is amazing

    • lucky. but this was 8 years ago. and its funny i switched to koodo which is owned by telus and never had a problem. been with them since.

      8 years ago there was no such thing as unlimited texting. They marketed it as unlimited but then you read the fine print it was actually unlimited up to 50,000 text messages. So if you went over that you get charged. Happened to a few people I know

    • ah but the courts said unlimited meant unlimited. we had no fine print about it. they had to remove it from my credit report as my contract showed different than what they claimed. they said we had 0 text messages covered. that we paid per message.

    Funny enough I just switched my cell phone from Rogers to Telus because of their superior customer service. Are you sure you weren’t being an asshole? No matter what company you go with if you treat the customer service department like crap they’ll treat you the same way.

  17. I’ve been with Telus Mobility for 22 years and on the few times I’ve had issues, they have rectified them right away. My bill has always been far lower than any of my friends on Rogers or Bell and I have NEVER had a dropped call. Customer service is always phenomenal for me.

  18. Been with them 5 years now zero issues. Have a great grandfather plan and pay way less then any competition would give me. Decent service too. Way better then Rogers ever was.

  24. You want to know why your phone bill is so high? You probably have a new fucking phone. I have a Pixel XL. Got it brand new. I’m paying just over $100 monthly because it was a brand new phone. Every other phone company that provides the newest models will do the exact same thing.

  26. I’ve had Telus ever since I’ve had a cel phone, also Optik tv and Internet service and never had any issues that they didn’t address efficiently and to my satisfaction, I highly recommend them.

  27. My got a 10,000 bill (for 2 months of service) from them and the refused to even look into the mistake… they sent it to collections and fucked his almost perfect credit.

  28. I used to deal with Bell. That was horrible. Telus is actually pretty decent. I pay $20 per month for a great package. Whenever I need something they have been pretty decent when I talk with them. Would rather deal with them than with the other companies.

    I have cable and internet with Telus. Shaw offered us the same option for more than half the price. We accepted and Telus called us three days later to tell us they would match the rate Shaw was going to give us for a year. The only reason we said yes is because we didn’t want to disconnect and rehook everything up again.

    I’ve had phone contracts will Telus, Rogers and Fido. I’ve also dealt with Bell where I co-signed. By far the best service area is Telus. I have had my contract with them now for 6 years during this time I had a plan with Fido as well. I would not recommend Rogers to my worst enemy. Fido was great until they merged their contact centre with Rogers to cut costs a few years back. I switched all my phones to Telus when Fido declined to allow me an upgrade and keep my existing plan which was a fantastic grandfather plan. I’ve had great experience with Telus, there was one major hiccup where our data was grossly over charged for an overage but we had not accepted the notification to allow additional charges. They reduced our bill by $500 making it our monthly charge. Other than one hiccup in six years that was dealt with professionally and courteously on both mine and their behalf we haven’t had any issues at all. I’ve been offered many customer deals and bonuses and still get the occasional direct call to see how my services are going. I also receive calls when we are outside our normal call areas to ensure my phone was not stolen. I appreciate that Telus does these things.

    Wake up business owners/managers. Some of these posts are a great example of how one rude customer service person can give your entire business a bad reputation. You may have the best prices and product but you forget that these front line people are the face of your business. I have no problem with Telus’ service or charges but the last person we dealt with there was so rude we didn’t care if we had to pay more. We switched.

    • You should have asked to speak to a manager. They need the opportunity to change the situation. It’s on you as well. People complain without doing anything to make it better all the time.

      Krista L. Zimmerman we did…we were given a supervisor who was ruder than the agent. After we closed our account with them we wrote a letter to the department manager that was never even acknowledged. The entire issue was over 2 missed service calls where each of us took a day off work waiting for them. They had absolutely no appreciation of the value of our time and made that very clear.

      Quite a few experiences I had with Telus were not positive,takes forever to speak with a person,I prefer touch tone options instead of voice recognition,due to several strokes I have an impediment,no compassion from them,the service I use now prevents this barrier,I face barriers daily,don’t need one for a service I pay for,not all reps were rude but majority were

    They even have a pretty great shared plan deal on right now. I was just looking at it the other day.

  36. Been with Telus 7 years for my phone and when my hubby racked up $400 in overages in 3 days overseas they gave me a break and took all the charges away and put an international plan on his phone.

    Just as of late we got behind on our bill and his phone was cut off….I called told them what was going on hooked his phone back up. So lol must just be you.

  37. Love Telus, ridiculous wait times some days but they have been very apologetic and always offer amazing discounts for the wait at one point I had $400 in credits they have always been quick to own up to mistakes and not being an asshole to them gets way better results

  40. It isn’t as much the customer service I have issues with as much as the lack of empathy for struggling/misinformed customers when customers should be a first priority. The people have always been polite and trying to do their job but the policies are terrible.

  45. I agree. I quit Telus because I had to wait FOREVER on the phone before it was answered. At least at Shaw you can leave your number & they will call you back. For cell I use KooDoo cause after five I get free long distance Canada & U.S.
