Qualifying for AISH with Interstitial Cystitis?

I have been diagnosed many years ago with this painful and debilitating disease, I have continued to work the past 10 years with this pain. I am now working only 3 or 4 days a week because the pain is too much to work full time.

I have been told by so many people, including my doctor, to apply for disability/Aish. I have never been on any government programs and I really have no clue how to do this or if I should even try?

I am wondering if anybody out here is on Aish with this disease? How hard is the application/qualifying process? What is the amount they give for one single person? Can I still work 1 or 2 days a week if I can manage to?

I would like to work as much and as long as I am able. Any other advice?

Thank you.

You have to have a lawyer to get approved for AISH. Good luck.

I just got approved…not same condition! It was a long process! Have you looked into cpp disability pension! A lot of people don’t even know it exsists!

Good luck AISH is next to impossible to get. My sister in laws father has been trying for the last 3 years to get on it he literally can not work due to physical and mental health he has been denied 6 times

  4. My mom had this condition – has your doctor tried a drug called almiron (not sure that’s how it’s spelled) Helped her immensely and she was able to continue working. I know that doesn’t answer your question but thought I would mention it just in case.

If you can survive off 15-16 month then go ahead
