Samsung s7 catches fire

This started Nov. 2nd
Update 3. My last email. Sent 3 minutes ago to Leanardo D.
And yet another 5 days without a response! This is the biggest bullshit I have EVER Seen!? Seriously what the fuck man? Do you seriously think this is just going to “go away”?

It is not! Lawyers already contacted. This is going to court. And I am making sure it is going class action as well!

Samsung products in this house are now being disposed of and going back to LG.

7 different Samsung phones and tablets in the last 3 years. I know this don’t mean SHIT to your conglomerate company but in the long run it is just another black eye. 4 years ago I had an issue with a LG phone and in the amount of time you have ignored me they had a replacement phone IN MY HANDS! BRAND NEW DONE AND DONE! THAT is customer service

Update 2. 3 days after the last contact where I am told that Leonardo will be in touch with me THAT day. Here I am still waiting! Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. This is getting even more rediculous! Over 1 week since my phone caught fire and STILL no proper response! CBC News has already shown interest as has Global News. Shall I proceed with them instead of continuing with you? Or as I stated in my email sent 5 minutes ago, do I start contacting an attorney and file a lawsuit for gross negligence over your FAULTY products and their continuously catching fire!?
Update. FIVE (5) days later I recieve an email. Not only is my information incorrect but they are telling me they want to take my phone and send it from ALBERTA to MISSISSAUGA Ontario for inspection and possible repair!
No word on a loaner phone nothing. 30 minutes of fucking around on the phone AGAIN today to be told that Leanardo D. Will be back in touch with me in a few minutes. That was 20 minutes ago!
I am demanding a new phone PERIOD end of subject. 5 months old and it catches fire!
Samsung Canada media is watching! They are quite interested in the fact yet another Samsung device has caught fire!

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

So this is my 5 month old S7! It caught fire in my hand while in my truck on Wed night. Thursday I called Samsung and was asked to send an email with pictures of the phone and receipt with a guarantee I would have a response in 24-48 hours. 72hrs later I called them and just had an incredible 25 minute run around being transferred to 2 different dept. with an outcome of, “no one is able to answer the questions and it has been escalated to upper management’s attention but we don’t know what is being done”. This is AFTER telling them I would be notifying media as before that response and demanding a manager they were telling me to call back in 20 minutes as the dept. responsible was “unavailable”. My last words before ending rhe call was they had an additional 24hrs to respond or this goes to Global, CBC and CTV.
Be warned Samsung has issues with not only their products catching fire is seems but ALSO customer care!

  7. My husband and I have had samsung products for 5+years and never had a problem. We just upgraded to S8 and i had an S7 for 2 years before and no problems at all. It might just be a shitty phone but they should still be dealing with you in a timely manner

  8. My S7 I’m using this very second has never given me a problem. Obviously you’re cursed.

  9. You poor chocolate fucking muffin. Try and think that maybe….you did something to the phone. I’ve never had an issue with a Samsung product. Ever. This would be no different than someone having an issue with a Ford and they say they will never drive one again and go to dodge or Honda. Shit happens. Instead of acting like a whiny fuck about it, try to be more patient. You think you’ve the only one who had a phone issue?

Sranding up for your rights as a consumer is what keeps suppliers producing better products. Nothing is perfect , but if they take someone’s money they should honor their product with good customers service.

My Samsung tv has 3 shot HDMI ports & my 5500 Samsung surround sound Blu-ray system copped out within 7 months. Got the Blu-ray player repaired under warranty but it still of copped out and only two of the six speakers work the right speaker and the bass box.

Wait…isnt this already an issue? There was a huge thing about it and a recall.
So, i dont know. But think about it this way. Those poor people in customer service have only so much power. They need approval to send you anything or issue a credit. You yelling at them isnt going to make it happen. Its not their fault. Next time, politely ask for the managers number as well so you can keep contact with them.
I maybe missed it but did you ask your phone provider for a new phone because they should give you one, not just Samsung. Hopefully you didn’t buy it second hand or from an unreputable source.

I have had an s7 for a while & no issues. Are you using a cheap dollar store charger??? Are you using the phone while you charge it??? Both of those are a no no if you want to keep your phone in tip top shape

Any electrical connection can do this. Keep your cord ends clean, keep shit out of the bottom of your phone, and make sure it’s properly seated while plugged in.

Or, get with the times and use wireless charging.

I have had a Samsung 7 for about a year… no problems. I have Samsung products in my home for many years.. no problems… maybe you are unlucky. Or maybe you are very hard on your devices.. If that’s the case you don’t deserve a “new” one.

There’s always the chance the outlet your plugged in to is not good as well and may not be properly grounded which could possibly make anything plugged into it start a fire. On my 3rd Samsung phone and have 3 Samsung tv’s never had any issue

  30. Brian Booth Brian Booth says:

I’ve owned Samsung’s without any issues and didn’t get the S7 specifically because the Note7 was catching fire so didn’t want to chance it. My question is if the phone is 5 months old why didn’t you get the S8 instead. It was released in April and the S8 and S7 had identical prices if you signed a plan.

  31. Brian Booth Brian Booth says:

Also if you over charge your phone that would be a huge issue too. If your S7 came with a “fast charger” and you charge it overnight that would be your issue

    • Purdy Travis Purdy Travis says:

It was in my hands in my tow truck. I just happened to jump into the truck after being placed on standby by the rcmp. Grabbed the phone off the cradle, opened Facebook and sizzle sizzle sizzle and smoke coming out of charger port.

      [0]
    • Brian Booth Brian Booth says:

Yeah were you charging it overnight with a fast charger? Because it you do that it can damage the battery. Not sure if burning up your phone is a result but if the battery was malfunctioning due to overcharging over a period of time that could have been your issue. Like do you plug your phone in every night?
