Shout-out to West End Mr. Lube

I’d like to give a BIG shout-out to the Mr. Lube in Walmart supercenter on Stony plain road. The whole team was nothing but friendly, fast and efficient. I am very pleased with them and will be returning for any and all work my car needs, as they do lots more than just tires and oil changes.

10/10 recommend!!! If you care about your car, I totally think you should check this place out. You won’t regret it!

  1. Right. The same fools that you tout nearly caused my car major damage.

Why? Carelessness. An O-ring on the oil cap was not present AFTER they changed my oil. The oil was literally coming out from the unsealed oil cap burning onto my engine.

I stopped at a dealership outside of YEG. They discovered the problem right away.

I phoned ‘ this’ place. I was asked why I never brought the car back to them. The dealership was the closest. A burning smell was coming off my engine after an oil change. Thats why.

I approached them wanting a refund for my initial oil change as well as the costs of having to have someone else look at it. They’re lucky that was the only cost. But they still fought me. For something that occurred minutes after THEY changed my oil, they actually tried to insinuate it was something I must have done.

I contacted their head office. It took two months. All that had to be done during the initial oil change was for someone to confirm the O-ring was in the cap to ensure a proper seal.

I got my money, but only because I got their head office involved.

And No. I will never go back to them.

  2. I switched oil change places. My car took 4.5 liters of oil. I stopped to gas up and checked my oil after an oil change. It showed ADD OIL.
I looked at my bill and had been charged for 5 liters of oil. There is no way there was 4.5 liters of oil added, after the oil change, if the dip stick showed ADD oil shortly after.

If I can’t trust these ____ to do what I’ve paid them to do and risk damage to my vehicle, I simply don’t go them anymore.

Dealerships offer the same service at comparable rates. I go directly to them.

AND is the reason why, people need to get off their handheld devices and out of their vehicle and stand, watch and count all manner of ‘so called’ service. They can’t stop you from doing that!

    • Marie says:

Also Macsen Simmons … from my and my husband’s personal experiences. Dealerships as well can, and do hire duds in their service and repair depts. as well. People need to pull back on ‘trusting’ just anyone’s ‘word’ with their vehicles. All too often too many people get burned.

    I’m sure you don’t work there……..

  4. Wouldn’t go back to Mr Lube ever. Broke my solenoid while they did an oil change and had to get it replaced. Never again.

Sorry my car doesn’t go near places without a licensed mechanic. Wal-Mart does NOT have a single licensed mechanic in store. Lmfao same as Costco.

Walmart is different from Mr. Lube. They’re two completely different companies, just in the same building. It’s exactly the same as Esso/Tim’s…. And yes, there are fully licensed mechanics on site.

    • Exactly. I questioned some of the people working on your vehicle, even to perform the simplest of tasks. If they don’t do it right, the consequences are high. For a couple more bucks, get it done right.

    • Purdy Travis Purdy Travis says:

Tiffani Ann NO they are not licensed mechanics lmfao. Your in a dream world if you think ANY quick lube has licensed mechanics! They are paid minimum wage, you seriously think a licensed mechanic is going to work for minimum wage? Time for a reality check ma’am. Next time your in one ask for their journeyman tickets and certificates. Guaranteed they can’t cause they don’t have one.

  6. They ” forgot ” to put my oil cap back on!! Then went back and they couldn’t find it!!

  7. They didnt slam my hood of my truck down hard enough . It started to come up going 110 km down the highway.

  8. Nice to hear! Do they do brakes too?
