Stay away from monat

I used monat for almost one year and it destroyed my hair. I trusted them that my experience of increased shedding, dryness and tangles were totally normal.

They tell you it’s a good thing, you are detoxing and soon your hair will be amazing. Unfortunately my hair only got worse, it started breaking off, continued to fall out, got even dryer.

Now I’m left with hair that’s in the worst condition it has ever been.

  1. If your hair is falling out you need to go to a doctor to find out why. I know several people where hair loss is a stress response. Go get this checked.

  2. This is more common than you’d think with people that have tried Monat. They tell you you’re using it wrong and that it’s “just a detox”. Sounds like MLM but ok

  3. Ingredients in Monat:

    Water (Aqua),
Lauramidopropyl Betaine, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cinnamidopropyltrimonium Chloride, Stearyldimoniumhydroxypropyl Decylglucosides Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract,

    • They say their ingredients are botanical.

    • If I can’t pronounce it. It doesn’t go on or in my body. Fuck that. Lol

    • No wonder it dries out people’s hair. Look at all the damn salt in it

    • Along the same lines is Nerium Cream another Mlm.

      Look what its made of:
      1. Oleander (Nerium)

Oleander is one of the most popular ornamental plants in arid regions. It requires little water or maintenance, grows lush green leaves and dazzling flowers. In fact, it’s one of the most common ornamental plants in Southern California, planted in people’s backyards and along freeways. The only problem is it’s one of the most poisonous plants in the world. Toxic compounds include nerioside, oleandroside, and saponins. Wear gloves when working with oleander because the sap causes skin irritation and one leaf, if swallowed, is potent enough to kill a child.

I’ve never even used Monat but I can tell you that every person is different. Everybody’s body reacts differently to different treatments. I’ve heard of other people having major success from Monat. Maybe you should seek the help of a doctor before throwing a company under the bus

Actually, I did. Blood was tested, levels were checked, everything fine. Even went to my hair dresser who said my scalp and hair were healthy(before and after stopping Monat) I have thick, thick strong hair and only bought the shampoo to support a friend because that’s how mlm’s get you, never had an issue with my scalp or hair besides when on Monat. Also, pretty disgusting that the company refuses to admit or accept that maybe some people just have an allergy to the product. They will not refund or cancel auto ships for any reason. Their product is the all mighty and any problems you have while using it is your own problem..”build up from other shampoos, detox, blah blah blah” I’d rather not live with sores all over my head and be uncomfortable and often in pain but hey that’s just me.

Like I said, I’ve never used the product, just going by what I’ve heard from whoever I know that used it. If you ladies have experienced this, I feel bad for you and I sympathize. Nothing else to say

    • Unfortunately I would throw that company under the bus too if my hair was falling out. You couldn’t pay me $1000 to put that on my hair I’ve heard of this from MANY different people

    • Or maybe Companies should stop lieing to their Customers when their product does the complete opposite of what its suppose to do and at the same time they should stop blaming the customer when things go wrong.

  7. Use plain coconut oil in your hair and wash it once every 2-3 days giving your hairs natural oils time to help repair it.

  8. You should have run away when they said you were detoxing.

    • Me too! Monat has been the first shampoo/conditioner/styling product I have been able to use in over 7 years! My scalp was very dry, open sores and dandruff like no other, all cleared up! My hair is soft and manageable (bleached). I am a stylist so I literally tried EVERYTHING! I love my monat!

    • Good for you!! I’ve been using and became Market Partner because of the love I have for the products! We will be probably a 80 Billion $$$ company this coming year so really pretty hard to make everyone happy but we sure give it a shot! I guess it’s not for everyone 😉

I hate this company SO MUCH! I tried it to support a friend. Was LIED to and thought I was buying one system, turns out it was an auto ship that they go ahead and just ship to you once a month and you can not cancel until after 3 months. My scalp was itchy, had actual sores all over it and my hair was falling out. Worst most uncomfortable thing I ever experienced and was appalled when I was told “that’s good! Your detoxing” this was over 2 years ago and I still get emails telling me they are having difficulties processing payment for an upcoming order…..umm yah you idiots because I had to cancel the credit card and get a new one so you couldn’t help yourself to my money anymore. Excellent company.

  14. Most often what happens on the outside is something that is happening or not happening on the inside. Eat a really good clean diet, take supplements such as magnesium, Omega-3, collagen, and silica (I take mine in the form of food grade diatomaceous earth). Don’t shampoo every day. I use a variety of moisturizers on the ends of my hair and very little heat treatment. I’ve also found a shampoo and conditioner at Chatters that is salt-free. Once or twice a month you can do an apple cider vinegar rinse and/or a baking soda rinse. Here’s hoping you get your hair beautiful again.

  15. It’s unfortunate that she feels this way.. I have been using Monat for almost 2 years and personally have seen HUGE IMPROVEMENTS! As well as 95% of my customers which are repeat customers.. as someone mentioned – could be her diet as well as over processing ..
    I LOVE MY MONAT

I’ve haven’t had a problem and I’ve been using it for almost a year. I choose when my autoships go out and have a honest rep.
