Where are the Canadian values these days?
I was driving south on 66St this morning with my family when I had noticed a car had stalled near the top of the road. My wife and I had noticed that it was a lady with her kids. I got down to ask what happened and she had mentioned she ran out of gas – luckily I lived nearby with a reserve that still had fuel in it and was able to get her back on her way.
What concerns me about this situation, though, was the general lack of concern or care for this lady. She had kids in her vehicle and not a single motorist pulled over to help. In fact, she had mentioned that aside from the people who swore at her and gave her the dirty finger, one even had the gall to bump her side mirror and not even apologize.
I don’t think we are that busy to not care – I had my family with me and we all felt compelled to help. I hope this is not the Canada that it is turning out to be.
