Why Is It So Expensive?!?

Why does it cost more to fly from one part of Canada to another than it does to fly somewhere in the US?

My mother needs a surgery she’s been waiting to have for YEARS, and she can only have it done here at home in Edmonton when she lives in Nova Scotia right now.

She can’t leave her 4 year old son behind and needs to fly with him, but none of us can afford the 1200 dollar price tag. Meanwhile, my husband would be able to fly home to the States for less than 200 dollars.

I don’t understand why it has to be so expensive just to bring them home. I’m honestly disgusted with Canadian airline prices, this really should be addressed for people who aren’t doing it for the travel. It’s BEYOND unfair!!

Admin’s Note: This has been a Canadian airline issue for many decades, but, we’re fortunate to finally (slowly, but surely) be getting MUCH cheaper national flights! Have a look at www.flyswoop.com. 🙂 — Jody Mitoma

Because people will pay for it and airlines aren’t charities. How do you not understand that?
